Our Ethos

Ash&Ez was born out of the desire to create skincare that challenged industry ingredient quality and transparency standards, while demonstrating corporate social responsibility. By making the commitment to forego the use of traditional water sources in our formulas, we have established a synergistic relationship between both the user and the environment.


Formulas that utilize traditional water sources typically consist of 80 to 95 percent water, have more diluted active ingredient concentrations and utilize harsh preservative systems to prevent bacterial growth that water bases facilitate. Our formulas deliver greater sustenance to the skin by substituting traditional water sources for antioxidant, vitamin and mineral-rich botanical ingredients. We are able to employ higher active ingredient concentrations by eliminating skin-stressing preservative systems. 


Our formulas are made without parabens, synthetic dyes and fragrances, alcohol, mineral oil, silicones, sulfates phthalates, urea and ethanolamines.


Water scarcity, succinctly, is a result of increased freshwater use and a depletion of freshwater sources— both phenomena exacerbated by climate change.

Water conservation and management is critical to our climate change response. If individuals, communities and industries, do not prioritize water conservation and management, water crises and scarcity will further escalate. As it is, more than 1 in 10 people do not have access to clean drinking water. Within the next three decades, 25 percent of people are expected to live in areas crippled by water shortages. The socioeconomic implications of water scarcity are far-reaching, dictating educational opportunities and sanitation accessibility for those most impacted.  

The skincare industry is especially guilty of facilitating water waste. Examine your skincare and cosmetic product ingredient labels. You will find that in the overwhelming majority of your products, the first ingredient is water.  


Beyond our commitment to forgoing traditional water sources in our formulas, we have pledged ten percent of our profits to furthering clean water efforts in regions affected by water scarcity. Our contributions will be directed to Charity: Water

Every ingredient in our formulas is vegan, plant-derived or created from skin-safe bioenzymatic processes. This means no questionable, animal-derived ingredients make their way into our formulas, which equals greater skin sustenance and lesser support for animal-exploitation processes. We do not test our products on animals.  In testing the safety of our products, we tested them on ourselves, our parents, families and friends. 


Every piece of our packaging is environmentally friendly and easily recyclable. From the outermost layer in, sustainability was the guiding principle in designing our packaging. Our shipping boxes are made from Kraft paper. The shipping tape used to secure our shipping boxes is made from moisture-activated gummed Kraft paper. Our tissue paper is made from recycled paper. Our stunning ribbons are biodegradable and made from organic cotton. The actual product box is made from greyboard, produced using pulp sourced from used newspapers and cardboard. Our bottles are made from recycled glass. 


We know the saying, "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle." We strongly encourage our clients to reuse as many elements of their Ash&Ez packaging as possible before recycling. Stay tuned, as we launch our Refill Program.
